After serving for seven years as the President of the New England School of Communications, Thom became the Dean of NESCom upon the school’s integration with Husson University in July of 2014. Before that, Thom, was a senior partner and chair of the Employment Law Practice Group at the law firm of Eaton & Peabody where he practiced for 31 years.
He is a past president of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra Board and the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and past chair of the Boards of both Husson University and of The New England School of Communications. He is a graduate of Middlebury College (AB) and Boston College Law School (JD).
Part of life’s richness rests in experiences beyond the University and work. Thom’s experiences include raising three children (with his wife Patti), barbershop singing, racing Lightning sailboats, carpentry, coaching youth hockey, adjunct instructor, president of a condominium association, member of a zoning board of appeals, actor in community theater productions, member Committee on Excellence in Bangor Schools, trustee of Bangor Public Library, local board member of the Selective Service System, skiing, gardening, fitness, golf, reading and traveling in Europe and Africa.
