Husson University Presents Screening of Last Call at the Oasis

Date of Release: November 19, 2012

Husson University's program of Ethics & Philosophy in the School of Science and Humanities is proud to present Last Call at the Oasis, a thought provoking documentary film about our planet’s most vital resource by Oscar Award winning director Jessica Yu. The movie will be shown on November 29th at 7:30 p.m. at the Gracie Theatre after a short presentation. The event is free and open to the public.

Last Call at the Oasis, which features distinguished experts and activists, including Erin Brockovitch, “is an emotionally involving portrait,” The Washington Post reported, “Urgent, timely and smart.”

Jessica Yu’s documentary offers an insightful and global perspective, drawing attention to the rapid depletion of water supplies caused by agricultural overuse, rampant development and climate change. Detailing the complex web of issues that impacts our water supply, as conflicting interests compete for access to clean water, the film draws hope from Middle Eastern countries where conflicts are overcome by cooperation in the face of protecting this invaluable resource on which our lives depend.

Last Call at the Oasis is presented by Nico Jenkins of the Humanities Division of the School of Science and Humanities.
