Husson University’s School of Pharmacy Organization Recognized with National Award

Date of Release: September 4, 2012

Husson University School of Pharmacy’s Gamma Mu Chapter of Phi Delta Chi was awarded the Dale W. Doerr 100% Achievement Award for 2011-2012. This award was presented in August at the national convention held in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Doerr Award is a noncompetitive program involving the submission of several chapter reports. The extent of a Chapter’s involvement in the program indicates the efficiency and activity of the Chapter, as well as the responsibility that the members are willing to assume.

“This award is well deserved and is a reflection of the outstanding students and the organizations they have built within our program” according to Dr. Rodney Larson, Dean, School of Pharmacy.

Phi Delta Chi develops leaders to advance the profession of pharmacy. It is a lifelong experience, promoting scholastic, professional, and social growth in its members. The Gamma Mu Chapter was established at Husson University in 2010 and has continued to add to its membership as the pharmacy program grows. Since it’s founding the Chapter has raised over $2,500 for St. Jude’s hospital, has participated in regional and national meetings, coordinated educational programming for both classmates and practicing Maine pharmacists, as well as a variety of community focused activities.
