Healthcare System, published an article titled “Pharmacy Residents Show Worth in Geriatric
Clinic”. The clinic was designed to improve patient safety by providing pharmacy cognitive services to an ambulatory geriatric population. The clinical pharmacist reviewed prescription regimens, counseled patients on their medications, and made recommendations to the provider. Benefits of the project included an overall 17% reduction in prescriptions, decreased risk for adverse pharmacological events, individualized drug therapy, and an effective interdisciplinary treatment approach for the patients.
