Faculty - Criminal Justice

Husson University, a comprehensive, private university in Bangor, Maine seeks a full time Criminal Justice faculty member for the School of Legal Studies in the College of Business at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree and preferably a Doctorate in Criminal Justice or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Experience in the field of juvenile justice and/or corrections is required. Preferred candidates will have college level teaching experience, supervisory experience in law enforcement or corrections, and expertise to instruct one or more of the upper division courses in criminal procedure, corrections, juvenile justice and/or law enforcement leadership. Superior organizational abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities: Faculty will prepare for and teach assigned classes, hold required office hours, advise students, be active on faculty and university committees, and maintain an active program of professional development. Additionally, the candidate will participate in student recruiting efforts, community relations, and other duties outlined in the Husson Faculty handbook and/or assigned by the Dean of the College of Business. Course responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Introduction to Justice and Public Safety, Modern Penology, Juvenile Justice, Criminal Procedure, and other electives in the applicant’s area of professional expertise.

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
