Assistant/Associate Professor - School of Occupational Therapy

Husson University seeks a fulltime faculty member for its growing School of Occupational Therapy. This 10-month ranked faculty position is in the College of Health & Education. Husson University is a small, thriving private university located in central Maine close to both the mountains and ocean. Husson is founded on a philosophy of offering a quality education at an affordable price for our students.

Husson seeks a faculty member to teach upper-level courses. We are particularly interested in individuals with content expertise related to adult neurological rehabilitation. The School of Occupational Therapy at Husson University is committed to its mission of preparing practitioners for contemporary practice and scholarship emphasizing leadership, occupational engagement, and evidence-based critical thinking and clinical reasoning. Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include teaching, advising students and participating in service and scholarly activities.

Preferred candidates should possess an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD) in occupational therapy or a related field, including Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation. Candidates who are ABD may be considered. Candidates with a research-based MS or OTD will be considered contingent on enrollment in a research-based doctoral program.

A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the college/university-level and 3 years of clinical experience in disabilities and/or rehabilitation of adults is preferred. Candidates who are occupational therapists must hold current certification by NBCOT and be eligible for licensure in Maine. Applicants from other professions and backgrounds must hold appropriate credentials and licenses.
