Husson University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, faculty position. Requirements for this position include completion of an academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in physical therapy, or related field. Consideration will be given to doctoral students in the dissertation phase of their degree.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kinesiology and orthopedic physical therapy practice. Other potential teaching responsibilities may include geriatrics and health & wellness. The new faculty member will collaborate with current faculty who teach in these content areas and will participate in scholarly activity and professional service. Candidates should have a record of teaching experience and a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
Husson University is a private institution with an approximate enrollment of 3,000. The School of Physical Therapy is housed within the College of Health and Education which also supports programs in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Counseling and Education. The School of Physical Therapy offers a six-year program leading to a B.S. in Kinesiology and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The department has nine full-time faculty and one half-time faculty member working in a collegial, supportive environment for academic, scholarship, and clinical development. The School is housed in a newly constructed facility with dedicated and fully- equipped teaching and research labs. Opportunities exist for inter-professional collaboration within Husson University and with faculty at a nearby medical center and the University of Maine, Orono.
