FAQs

What is the Continuing Education Division?
The Husson University Continuting Education Division serves adults who, because of work schedules, geographic locations, or responsibilities, wish to attend classes in the evening or on Saturdays.

Is it the same degree as the day program?
Yes. Program requirements are identical for both day and CED programs, therefore, students receive the same degree.

Will credits transfer from my previous college?
Yes. We have a generous transfer policy and accept credits from various accredited institutions and /or programs.

Can I do this while working?
The majority of our students work full time and find our course schedules fit well with their work and personal commitments.

How much does it cost?
There are no lab or other fees associated with CED, with the exception of a parking permit fee for students attending the Bangor CED Site. Click here for the latest information on tuition.

Do you offer financial aid?
Yes. Financial aid is available to students in a degree program that are enrolled in at least six credit hours.

How complicated is the registration process?
Our process is very simple. CED students fill out a one page general information sheet that is also a registration form. Your first step would be to contact your local Center Director.

Am I going to have to travel?
No. All required classes are taught at your local site.

Are teachers actually there in the classroom or is it a broadcast lesson?
A vast majority of teachers are in the classroom. A few classes in select programs are taught by a teacher at another location over interactive video conferencing equipment.

Who are the instructors?
The majority of our instructors are active professionals in the fields in which they teach. At the Bangor center, some classes may also be taught by full-time faculty members.

What will a college degree do for me?
Only 26% of Maine high-school graduates hold a baccalaureate degree. In today's competitive job market, a college education will open many doors not available to every applicant.

Is there ample parking?
Yes. There is ample parking at all of the CED locations.
